PROJECT:
Group Exterior Design Project
BRIEF:
Redesign downtown Cedarville Ohio to promote community and business
TIMEFRAME: 4 weeks
DATE: Fall 2021
Cedarville is a village in Greene County, Ohio with a population of 4,019 at the 2010 census. It is located 13 miles south of Springfield Ohio and is most known for Cedarville University.
The Cedarville Village Committee wanted to bring more life and consistency to the downtown area to promote community and business. The current village does not have a consist theme throughout the town as well as areas that clash
In order to understand the various districts that are represented in the town as well as how to improve the areas represented I divided up the downtown area into different districts
Bubble diagrams were used to quickly relate spaces based on their function and generate space combination alternatives
I pursued two different concepts for the revitalization project, one based around historical, and the other based around bringing the town up to date
My group made two master plans based on all of our concepts. Some concepts were not modified while others like our historical concept were changed
This is what the town would look like if it adopted the Modern Age Concept
